Audition information

Our award winning competitive dance team is looking for enthusiastic team-oriented members. Our goals this year are to: 

• restage works of Julliard trained choreographer, dancer, and professor emerita Margot Mink Colbert (Pictured right: "Ellis Island" This selection won first place at Dupree Dance Competition, Chicago, October 29, 2022)
• attend two competitions - one in the fall, one in the spring
• attend one convention (awesome classes, teachers and speakers)
• present exclusive team showcase performance in spring recital
• perform in Dancefest at Six Flags Great America
• provide professional photographs and videos of the dancers 
• have on-camera experience​
• provide options for additional competitive solo, duet, trio, and small group routines

2022-2023 Season Company Auditions 

Please contact the Studio Director if you wish to audition for the Dance Team. All students auditioning for the Dance Team must be fully registered in required classes with all waivers and forms signed. The Audition fee is $15 whether the student makes the team or not. Registration in technique classes is binding whether the student makes/remains the team or not.

As the elite dancers of the Studio and our ambassadors to the community, team members should train only at ¡Baila Conmigo! / Dance With Me!  Participation in school dance activities— musicals, poms, etc —  that do not conflict with rehearsals, required technique classes, or performances are allowed. 

To the greatest extent possible, team members will be grouped as follows: juniors ages 9-13; seniors 14-18. Depending on the size of each age group separate rehearsals may be required. 

Dancers must be available for all days of all scheduled competition and performance weekends and in order to be eligible for company membership. While dance technique classes can be made up, rehearsals cannot be made up. 

Dancers who make the team sign an agreement regarding specific rules of team membership for the year.
